Dr. Jennifer Jeffries has the experience to build a stronger Palomar College!

Dr. Jennifer Jeffries is a lifelong resident of North San Diego County and a dedicated educational leader, public servant, and community advocate.

She holds a Doctor of Education in Leadership Studies from the University of San Diego, along with a Master of Arts in Educational Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Health Science from San Diego State University.

With a career spanning the full spectrum of public education, Dr. Jeffries has served in K-12 roles ranging from classroom aide and middle school teacher to principal, district administrator, and superintendent of the Fallbrook Union Elementary School District for ten years. She later continued her impact in higher education as a faculty member at California State University San Marcos, where she served for 17 years as an Associate Professor and later as Associate Vice President of Planning, Assessment, and Accreditation.

While at CSUSM, she served as founding co-director of the doctoral program in educational leadership.  With over 200 graduates, several San Diego County K-12 districts are guided and supported by the graduates of the program.

Dr. Jeffries' community service has been extensive since moving to Fallbrook in 1988. She is a member of the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce and a past president of the Fallbrook Friends of the Library. She is a donor to the Ingold Sports Park, Fallbrook Land Conservancy, Fallbrook Arts Center, Fallbrook Music Society, the Fallbrook Rotary Club 4th of July event, the Fallbrook Food Pantry, nd the National Conflict Resolution Center. In addition, she was appointed by County Supervisor Jim Desmond to serve on the San Diego County Arts and Culture Commission representing North County.

In addition to her work in education, Dr. Jeffries has served as an elected Director of the Fallbrook Regional Health District since 2018, including terms as Board President and Treasurer. In this role, she has helped guide the development of the Community Health and Wellness Center and supports funding for vital local services across Fallbrook, Bonsall, De Luz, and Rainbow. She is a strong advocate for fiscal responsibility, local control of public resources, and expanding access to healthcare and emergency services.

Dr. Jeffries has also played a key role in advancing educational opportunities across North County through her longstanding involvement with Palomar College. She was an active participant in the 2006 Proposition M bond effort that funded the development of the Fallbrook campus and has remained engaged through the Palomar Fallbrook Advisory Group, helping to shape the design and future of the campus to better serve students in outlying communities, including unincorporated communities like Fallbrook, Bonsall, Rainbow, and Valley Center.

Her experience in higher education leadership has provided her with a deep understanding of the pathway from community college to both four-year universities and trades programs. Through her work at CSU San Marcos, she helped support students transitioning to advanced degrees and contributed to programs focused on educational leadership and student success.

As a founding member of the Art Center of Fallbrook, she has served on the Board of Directors for over 25 years. Her ongoing financial commitment is acknowledged in both the Fallbrook Art Center and the Fallbrook School of the Arts. She initiated a three-year partnership with the Fallbrook Union Elementary School District and the Fallbrook School of the Arts to provide STEAM summer camps to children from migrant worker families. Her efforts were recognized by a donor in the naming of the “Jennifer Jeffries Studio” at the Fallbrook School of the Arts.

Grounded in decades of public and community service, Dr. Jeffries brings a commitment to transparency, thoughtful governance, and community-centered decision-making. She continues to champion initiatives that align education, healthcare, workforce development, and community well-being, ensuring that institutions remain responsive to the needs of the people they serve, especially our North County communities.
